From the General Manager
July 2008
Dear Members and Listeners,
July marks the beginning of the summer quarter in broadcasting
parlance and we have made a number of changes to our schedule based
on both listener comments and our reduced staff.
First, since the death of Clyde Martin, we
continued his scheduled programs through May and followed them
through June with selections made by Lane Whitesell. We are retiring
the Wednesday opera and replacing it with some of the “floating”
programs, programs that we otherwise have trouble bringing you
because of their unusual run lengths. We’ll begin this month with
the Milwaukee Symphony which you may remember from past years. Of
course, opera will always remain on KCSC Saturday afternoons.
To make the early weekend mornings more
consistent, we have added The Millennium of Music to the 6:00 a.m.
Sunday hour and have moved The Romantic Hours to 10:00 p.m. on
Wednesday.
Also note the return of the Jerusalem Symphony
Sunday mornings at 10:00. I like to keep chamber music in this
period, but we are out of chamber series at this time. We are
archiving the Santa Fe series which we’ll bring you in the fall.
Sincerely,
Brad Ferguson
General Manager
